Lost/Stolen Passport

Hi All,

I wonder if any of you can help me with some information. I am a foreign national living and working in the UK under Tier 2/Employer-sponsored. I was informed by an immigration officer while travelling back into the UK from overseas that my non-British passport has been reported lost or stolen. I did not make this report and have never had my passport lost or stolen. The immigration officer believed me and though he was supposed to seize the passport he allowed me to keep it but urged me to resolve the issue before travelling again. I travel quite often so ended up having to travel in another few days. The same thing happened and once again the immigration officer gave me the benefit of the doubt. I have since contacted the Police, the High Commission for my home country here in the UK, the home office, Action Fraud and just about every public body having anything to do with lost or stolen passports. I still have no information about who made this report. I have sent emails, faxes, complaints, voicemails, written letters. I don't know if it is simply an administrative error or something a lot more sinister.

Eventually I came across an immigration officer who was not as understanding and my passport was seized. I could get a new passport but I would still have to explain the issue of my previous passport and at this point I don't know what happened!!! Is there anyone who can direct me to the right course of action?
