SET(M) Questions - timing of application

Post by roof » Thu Sep 02, 2021 11:14 am

Hello, I will be applying for ILR through the SET(M) route over the next few weeks and am a bit confused by some of the timings about when to apply. My last grant of leave expires on October 20th, so my understanding is that I can apply for ILR from September 22nd. I'm going to be out of the country from September 26th-October 11th, so want to make sure I submit everything I need either before or after I am away. I plan on using the super priority, next day decision route. My questions are:
  • Is my application considered submitted the day I submit and pay for it online? Or is it the day I submit my biometrics?
What's availability like for getting biometrics appointments these days? I've been reading some threads about it being very difficult to get one, but I'm a bit confused if that's for regular applications or the super priority ones
Thanks for your help!

I suggest applying after your travel. Your application date is the day you submit it online. The appointment availability has nothing to do with the priority/standard visa processing service you choose for your application. Priority/standard simply determines the speed of your application processing by UK visa and immigration AFTER you enrolled your biometrics.

Biometric appointment booking and collection is handled by the third-party UKVCAS. That is a separate process and appointments are subject to availability

Made some small mistakes on my Set(M) application

Post by roof » Tue Oct 26, 2021 2:09 pm

Hi there,

As the title says, I think I've made some small mistakes on my SET(M) application that I submitted a couple weeks ago. I'm going on Saturday to submit my biometrics at a super priority application. The mistakes I've made are as follows:
  • I've put the date of my husband's employment wrong. I put 1st October when it should be 20th October
  • I got his salary slightly wrong. I overstated it by £500
  • I indicated he is a non-exec director of his company, which he is, but we're not using that to meet the financial requirement. It is my understanding that I should have stated that he is not one.
I've read somewhere that I can print out the application, make changes and then upload that ahead of my biometrics appointment. Is that true? Also, is my understanding about the non-exec director question correct?

Thanks a lot in advance!

You can add a cover letter for these. UKVI relies on the evidence submitted to make a decision and so error on the form are often ignored
