hello people!! I am in UK on tier-1 general..my wife filing dependant application from india...
Is it a compulsion that I need to attach my Bank statements with the application...or..just my wife's indian accounts can be shown for maintenance funds...the reason i cant attach my bank statements is the balance (overdrawn accounts)..only documents from my end are my passport copies,my self employed invoices, accomodation proof...will this suffice??? :(

For the purpose of Maintenance funds your wife can show her Bankstatments and YOU HAVE TO MENTION the same in the cover letter..

regarding the Supporting documents Checklist...

Got ur PM..

Apart from the maintenace funds.. pls make sure ur dependents application has

1. Cover letter
2. Correct and latest Application Form
3 Photographs x 2
4. Marriage certificate and photos would be better..
5. Accomodation proof & Utility bills if u have would be good
6. Main applicants passport showing visa copy
7. Maintenance funds proof bankstatements

hi ramesh !! thanks again for ur reply...listen thing is im self employed with whsmith news ..i have got the invoices but no tax return paper or accountant letters thats wats worrying me...shal i go ahead witout these docs or else get these first n then apply...

You need to worry abt those when YOU as main applicant is going for extension.. i am assuming you are already in UK with valid visa and applying for your Dependent?

you dont need to show info now.. though (ppl attach 3 or 6months bankstaements n payslips) but its not mentioned in the link given above..

Well sad news is my wife's tier-1 dependant is was refused coz of maintenance funds. I did submit her bank passbooks and fixed deposit documents with total amount of around 80,000 INR held for more than an year. But looks like they havent considered the fixed deposit documents and have refused coz of that. I did not attach any letters from banks explaining Fixed Deposit documents it was just the FDs themselve.
Now any chance I can ask them to review the decision..i'l get letters from banks...dnt want to go for appeal which will take ages..what would you suggest?
