Mainframe Technology

Hi,

I came to the UK in mid February 2011.

My work experience is with Mainframe Technology in the last 7 years. In the last 5 years, have been involved in manual and automation testing of mainframe applications. Also possess 1 year of UK Experience in the year 2006 - 07 , for which i was deputed through an Indian company.

In the past 4 months, I have attended 1 interview, in March, which did not materialize. After that, I have been getting calls from different consultants and been submitted for various senior testing positions. But, after being submitted, have not got any feedback. I am really confused as to, what could be the problem. Could it be because of the technology which I have worked on? Or is it something to do with the profile. I have worked on my profile a lot many times and changed format, changed text and tried putting in all the key words, but all in vain.

Any thoughts or pointers would be really appreciated.

Following pointers may help. You may already have done most of them but still ...

1. If you have any experience in BFSI, make sure you highlight it very well and in bold in ur CV

2. The first page in your CV should reflect most about your profile.

3. If you have any experience in web (java/.net) testing then do highlight that as well

4. Imp. be sure your CV is set to visible on all major jobsites - jobserve, jobsite, reed, etc.

5. Most Imp. CIRCULATE your CV - use sites like LinkedIn to connect to recruiters, call them up (not very frequently) and announce that you are immediately available.

6. reduce your salary expectations. start low and then then scale high.. and show that you are flexible to work anywhere in UK.
