Hi all,
My wife to be will be applying for a spouse visa and we obviously need to satisfy the accommodation section.
I rent in a shared house. There are already 4 of us in a 3 bed semi. We have 4 'bedrooms', a separate reception room and a k itchen / diner, so as far as the Housing Act 1985 overcrowding thing is concerned I won't have a problem. The size of my my room is also adequate. Housemates are also fine with my wife moving in until we are ready to get a place of our own a couple of months after that.
I have been told by a couple of solicitors and someone at the UKBA that the main things I need to get are the following,
-written permission from the landlord that she can stay in the house
-photos of the house
-a detailed report from a surveyor describing the house in terms of size etc etc
-names, DOB of housemates and their relationship to me
-copy of the tenancy agreement (the agreement must have at least 6 months to run)
Still waiting to hear back from the landlord. Slightly nervous he'll just say sod off. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Thanks
Nick
