Maintenance for Tier 4

Hi everyone,

My friend and his wife is going to apply for Tier 4. Hi is going to study PhD in Glasgow. He granted a scholarship of 15000 GBP per year or more than 1200 GBP per month. According to law he should show 1000 GBP per month for himself and his wife as maintenance up to nine month. Then, in this case he should supply any bank statement or his scholarship which stated in Visa Latter could be used for maintenance of both of them (no other document required for maintenance)?
