Maintenance fund issues!!!!! Please advice

Post by sanjacs » Fri May 15, 2009 12:45 pm

Hi All

My visa is due for renewal on june 30th.

I work as self employed, and have met all other requirements.

My main issue is, for the whole of March, the major part of my money was in my shares ISA, and now i'm hearing they dont use shares ISA as proof of maintenance funds.

For my family, we need to have £1830, that ideally shouldnt have been a problem becos i had well above 2k thruout february. In March, i had about 2.8k in my shares ISA for the whole of march. I realised early in APril, and have since april 7th maintained well over 4k in my account.

I'm really confused, and angry becos i had the funds but dont know if they'll accept it.

A lawyer said i could file my application in the middle of june, and then wait till 7th July when i'll have three months statement and send it to HO.

Has anyone tried this before, or any opinions?

I have the option of taking a work permit (have been offered one) but really dont want to be committed to any employer.

Opinions please........

Thanks

Sandra

I dont think that will work. The Evidence are considered dated before the date of application.

Do you have any overseas Bank A/c where you have maintined required funds?

If yes you can submit the statements of that a/c for this requirement.

That's sounds like a dead end !!!

You may have a chance though if you any Joint A/c with sufficient funds.

Thanks Sunny.

Have a joint account, that one didnt really have much, but did from 27th march.

Another option will be to wait till 27th june (3 days to go) and print out the statement and apply. Was trying to get same day service, but have not been able to get thru to them.

The risk there is, i'll have thrown away all my options by then (i.e the work permit). and if anything goes wrong, there'll be no time to rectify it.

It should work then. If you can manage to post the Application on 27th June, it will reach HO very next day if you opt for Special Delivery.

If you are sure about the Funds, you are sorted and not to worry about the result. It will indeed come POSITIVE :D

Thanks for that Sunny.

I'll have a proper look at the joint a/c, afterall i only need it to cover me up till 7th april.

Yea, will do the special delivery thing (dont even mind going there to deliver it myself  ) and hope it works.

Plus, i heard i could make the two applications, (i.e tier 1 & 2) at the same time. they wont vary each other unless i state otherwise. I'll hopefully in some months time post the outcome of this.

Thanks once again

For your application, if you use Royal Mail (Not courier though) , the date of posting is used as the date of application. So you still have till 30th June to apply (although thats cutting it too thin but is well within parameters).
