Maintenance Funds Evidence, can you show shared with spouse?

Post by seasky » Sat Feb 07, 2015 3:12 pm

Can you share maintenance funds evidence with married spouse who is a dependent? Let me clarify, the main applicant's bank account does not have enough maintenance funds, alone (for himself or dependants) but his dependent spouse has more than enough for the family.

I believe additional bank statements of dependants can be used only when accompanying the main applicants bank statements (but does that mean the main applicant does not have to have all the funds himself?)

would appreciate a link to actual guidance/regulations.

I would think this is a simple question. Do I need my own funds or can they be in my dependent spouses account for maintenance? (I have already missed the 90 days so it's not as simple to just transfer)

thanks for a response!

Mmaintenance for the main applicant MUST be in his/her bank account however for the dependants, the money can be either in the main applicant account or in the dependants bank account.

This is quite clear in Appendix E: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... m-migrants
