Maintenance funds - quick and urgent question

Post by UKaspirant2009 » Tue Feb 03, 2009 8:54 am

I will be applying for tier 1 shortly from India. I will submit HSBC bank statements to show maintenance funds for 3 months from Oct 08 to Jan 09. I have 2 questions:

1) I have maintained a minimum balance of GBP 3000 for the three months. But Oct 08 and Dec 08, there was no transaction at all in my account. In jan 09, i made an effort to make a couple of transactions. I will still try to get a letter from the bank. But will the "no transaction" history be a problem?

2) The statements have been issued on 29th nov, 28th Dec and 28th Jan. But I am trying to get a letter from the bank to confirm the amount from 1st Oct to 31st Jan. Will this be fine. Or should I not submit the letter and just go with the bank statements.

The bank statements are original, i.e. on official stationary, and give a./c number, name.

Please advice.

Thanks

get them attested by the bank officials.

and get the letter too clearly stating your account number and minimum balance maintained during the 3 months period.

tx sunny_hsmp001.

I am planning to get the statements attested by the officials.

But do u think I am getting the letter to prove funds from 1st Oct to 31st jan...but the statements will show the funds from 29 Sept 08 to 28 Jan 08.

There is a disconnect. What should I do in this case?

Thanks again

Yes, you are required to produce the evidence for what you are claiming that you maintained your funds.. you should get the latest bank statement covering till 31st Jan 09... request the bank to send you a statement or get it printed, signed and stamped at the bank there itself..

dont leave any excuses for the HO to reject ur application

goodluck

its always better to do at least a transaction on the dates for which you are claiming so that statements show the same exact period.

but if you havnt done this, then dont worry as nothing much can be done

else you can wait for some more days and choose a suitable period and apply

your choice only

Guys,..sunny_hsmp001 .. and tvn_ramesh....thanks for the prompt replies.

I don't want to wait for another 2 months. I will just take the risk and apply right away. I mean everything is genuine...so I should not worry..I GUESS.

Thanks again.
