Maintenance funds

Hello,

The guidelines say the maintenance funds for applicant appyling from within the UK should be at least £800 for a period of 3 months prior to the application.

It also says all evidence must be dated no more than one month before the application is submitted.

Now my understanding is; for example I submit my application on the 1st January 2009, my bank statement covering the 3 month period from 14th September 2008 till 13th December 2008 would suffice (as it covers 3 months and the last statement date of 13th december 2008 is no more than one month before the application submission date of 1st january 2009).

Have I rightly understood? Please advise.

Yes!

You should also provide a bank statement or account balance dated less than 7 days prior to the date you make your application. This is considered to be evidence of your "current" account balance.

This (1 week requirement) is only valid if you are applying from outside UK. If applying from within UK, the above mentioned understanding is correct.
