making sense of coversation with HO adviser!!!

My leave to remain on WP ( 2 employer, no gap) is expiring 2 weeks before my 5 years are complete. I called HO to inquire whether i can apply for ILR 28 days before 5 years are complete ( as the day one apply, the immigration status is frozen) or apply for FLR (IED) for 2 more weeks and only on completion of 5 year to apply for ILR.
The adviser put me on hold and after 5 minutes adviced me to call HO later within few days.
Now i am wondering if the HO employee dont know the answer then who will??
Is there any place i can look for case worker's guidence on this matter??
Whether anybody else have similar experience??

You can apply 28 days before the complition of five year period. Can you post your dates i.e. when you arrived and when exaclty will you complete five years?

Need to know the following

A =Date of grant of first WP

B = Date of entry to UK

If there is more than 28 days between A & B you will have to extend your WP.
If there is less than 28 days betwen A & B you can apply for ILR at the five year less the difference between A & B. Your current leave continues until you receive an decision.
