no marriage certificate affidavit format required

Hi,
I am residing in UK and would like to invite my parents but they dont have a marriage certificate as they were married 40 years back. Could you please let me know what document is required for their marriage certificate.

Is a court affidavit stating that they are married is sufficient? If yes, please provide me the format of the affidavit.
