Marriage Certificate Problem

Post by Nasher1234 » Wed Jul 02, 2014 8:17 pm

My wife and I got married in America (she's American, I am British) in June and we are now going to be applying for our visa for her to move to England.

We only noticed after I had returned to the UK that on the marriage license the recorder of deeds had incorrectly put my address as the same as hers in the US, rather than in England. She have since returned to the recorder of deeds and they have stapled a notarised official affidavit to the marriage license, which states that the information is incorrect and gives my correct address.

Does anyone know if this will be a problem when applying? Or if there is anything else we need to do as well?

Thanks.

To suffice, submit your utility bills at UK address, your Driving license (if any), bank statements, credit card bills, council tax (if you are paying any). I do not think it should be a problem, as long as you prove that you are ordinary resident in the UK. Along with copy of proof of dates outside UK (arrival and departure dates while travelling to USA during marriage) eg: Travel tickets. I think this evidence should be enough.
