Marriage Certificate

Post by potion80 » Thu Jan 09, 2014 5:21 pm

Hi all,

First off I'm getting married in Colombia but this site has great reviews so thought you folks might be able to offer some insight.

To get married on the date that I want to get married on, I will be providing the registrar in Colombia with my birth certificate. The thing is, it has what was my mothers name on it at time of birth which is different to what it is now. I guess we can book the wedding as they are unlikely to check my parents names, but the problem may be when I present the marriage certificate with my wife's visa application.

I spoke to someone at the UKBA and they said it 'shouldn't' be a problem. I was thinking of providing my mother's change of name document with the application, but wondered if anyone else has gone through the same type of thing.

Any thoughts most welcome.

Thanks
Nick
