Marriage Certificate Translation

I am a US citizen living in the UK with my Italian wife. I entered the UK on a 6 month EEA family permit. I have applied for the 5 year extension, but am afraid I will be rejected because I did not get an official translation of the marriage certificate. The marriage certificate I gave them is the original and stamped.

Should I get an official translation and send it to them? Or is it ok as it is? I included a translation that my wife did, but obviously it isn't official. I feel like since they've already given me the initial 6-month permit, the 5 year permit should be fine, but I'm not sure. Please advise.

Assuming your original Marriage certificate is in Italian, as if it was in English, there is no point in getting it translated, get an official English translation and wait for the HO to contact and ask for it if needed. An English one should be useful later in life as well.
