Marriage to obtain EU work permit for Romanian?

Hi,

I am a Romanian citizen permanent resident in UK , and my boyfriend is also Romanian and can live in the UK, but he needs a work permit to work.
I live in UK since 1996 ,I have ILR
After 3 years we have decided to get married so he obtains the work permit .
How long does it take to obtain the nationality in the UK and what is the process
Please could you tell me the best way for us to make this happen and what exactly we need to do to make this a success.

That is not strictly true. He needs permission to be employed, but is perfectly entitled to be self-employed.
