Post by AzimScot » Fri Aug 08, 2008 10:36 pm

When submitting an application do they require the originals or will copies suffice?

I think originals are best. Just photocopy them for your own records.

They will accept only originals documents in Islamabad. You will get them back after the decision is made

Everything is Pakistan now dealt with by Islamabad. Karach office recently closed down, so everything is passed to Islamabad including the two cities you have mentioned

so is it better going to Islamabad direct rather than going to an application centre in another city and it will speed up the number of days from the mail?

Marriage papers, ie Nikkah Nama need to be originals. Your wife will need to submit her original Nikkah Nama and also an english translated Nkkah Nama translated by a solicitor.

Passports can be photocopied but will need to be attested; the same for your birth certificate unless you are sending the original.

Things like bank statements, P60, payslips etc need to be originals...
Visa: Spouse
Submitted: 12/03/08 (Mirpur VAC, PAkistan)
Time Elapsed:10 Working Days
Result: VISA ISSUED 28/03/2008
ILR App: 18/03/2010-28/03/2010
ILR App Sent: 25/03/2010
ILR Received: 30/07/2010 - YAY!!
