Marriage

Hi all,
I'm in the UK, on the second lap of my HSMP (FLR). I recently decided to get married to my partner, who is also resident in the UK on a work permit. (i.e. we're both here legally).

I was informed that I need to apply for approval to get married, and this application will cost £200+ each - we have to make this application individually, and not as a couple.

Needless to say, I find this extremely inconvenient and annoying!!!

Does anyone know anything about this? Can anyone please advise?

This rule has been in place for almost a year to cut out the sham marriages taking place in the UK.

Looking at your original post, you got all the information and I can't see any short cuts to your plans to get married without a COA.

Alternatively you can get married in your home country.

Thanks a lot Olisun. I'm just a bit disappointed - I guess I was hoping the rule wouldn't affect people who are legally here, especially as none of us actually gets citizenship via this marriage.....
