Post by firstofficer » Fri Feb 24, 2006 12:50 pm

Sir,
I'm Premdeep Singh from India. My age is 25. few days ago i found girl on internet dating site. She is living in USA. We both have decided to marry. But we have not meet each other and after meet each other we will decide to go ahead for marriage or just end. But i told to my girl friend on internet you come my country India and then we can meet. But she can't come to India. So i have to go USA. Is there any option or way by i can first go USA before marriage and after that we can decide? We have only meet on dating site by email.
Thanks..............

You haven't met and you have decided you marry? I ask ... is this the wisest decision you have made in your 25 years on this earth?

Surely it is best to meet and then if you wish to take things further?

first officer,

Just to add to John's comments - you could use a B2 visa = 'visitor for pleasure' to travel to the US and meet your friend. However since the B2 is a non immigrant visa and you have immigrant intent you are unlikely to get one issued. In any case B2 issuance depends on your socio-economic circumstances and ties to India - do you have a job? US consular posts in India reject many applicants...top of their 'no' list are those from a matrix combining age - young, unemployed, new/recently employed, never travelled, unmarried since there are non/ few ties to compel you to return to India. Why can't your friend come to India?
