Marriage on Tier 4, honeymoon aborad

Post by Elmoses » Thu Mar 06, 2014 11:45 pm

Hi,

My girlfriend is currently in the UK with me. She has a Tier 4 (general) student visa that expires in January 2015.

We plan to get married in June 2014 and travel abroad for a honeymoon shortly after our wedding. Once we return to the UK we will sort out our documents and apply for a partner visa.

Can anyone advise whether she will have any problems returning to the UK after our honeymoon? Her student visa will still have around 6 months validity, but if we are now husband and wife will the UKBA treat her differently than if she was just re-entering the UK on her student visa which I understand is not normally a problem?

Thanks
Elmoses

Is she still studying? If so is this an authorised absence from her course?

Yes she is still studying and will complete her course in September 2014.
Yes she has asked her tutor if it would be ok to take a few weeks off in June, she has no classes at this time and her tutor has given permission.
Would this need to be official permission, would it help if she got a letter from her tutor saying that the leave is authorised?
Thanks

If she can then ask her to have a leave letter from the tutor or the education institute that will certainly help her if the entry officer ask any question when she will be coming back.
