Marriage Visa Help, Please!?

Hi There-

My wife and I have been married 2 and a half years, we live in Canada and my wife has a valid UK Passport as her Father is a born and raised British citizen.

My wife was born and raised in Canada and, as I said, we live in Canada currently.

What we want to do is move to the UK and settle there for an indefintle amount of time.

I believe that I can obtain a Marriage Visa for the UK based off my wife being a UK citizen with her passport.

Our issue is that, in an ideal world, Id like to get the visa so I can look for work before we leave or as soon as we get to the UK but we have no sponsor in the UK as my in-laws are living in India and have no residence in the UK..

The advise I need is on the best route forward...is there a way for me to obtain a Marrige Visa without us having any sponsor currently living in the UK? Or is it best for us to enter the UK, set up residence and then apply for the visa in hopes it arrives within the 6 months that Im allowed to stay?

If anyone can help with advise or ideas Id be truly greatful.

U will have to pass a finance and accommodation test to prove there will be no drain on public fund and u won't be homeless!

So u will need to have either substantial savings or a concrete job offer for the BC. Also somewhere to live.

The best was is for the BC to enter the UK alone and establish herself, then call u when the above points can be addressed.

The spouse visa is for 2 years, and you cannot switch from to it from a visit visa.

You may apply for a spouse visa, subject to the Maintenance & Accommodation requirements.

I intend to apply for a fiancée visa from Trinidad and I saw your post. I am wondering is it possible to use a courier to send documents? Was that an option as I know they have appointments and can actually take your documents in to the consulate in NY? Or is a courier only an option if you are in the US? Also have you found out anything about your documents? Is everything ok yet?

We have no sponsorship options in the UK, my wife's parents now live in Canada.

Is it possible to obtain the spousal visa without actually being settled in the UK?
