Married me Japanese wife in 2003 following which she was granted a
residence permit for two years, have been advised to reapply for
indefinite leave to remain near the end of the two year period which
will be november this year.
She wants to go to Japan for a week to sort out some things.
Is she permitted to do so? or would it invalidate her current leave to
remain?
I beleive immigration act 1971 states this cannot be done and assume
that she should wait until she had indefinite leave to remain before
travelling home.
We had a baby last year, I applied for Child Benefit in my own right, I
applied for child tax credits in both our names, the forms asked for
partner details, I requested the money be paid into her bank account.
I note that on the form set(m) that reference is made to use of public
funds and includes child benefit and child tax credits. I am sure that
it is safe for me to be claiming child benefit as it is in my own
right but both our names are on the application.
Would the CTC claim in both our names and paid into her bank
account cause any problem when we submit the set(m) form.
Thanks for any assistance.
