Married to British national and Student

Post by loveline » Thu May 06, 2010 2:34 pm

Hi all,

I will like to know from you guys if l could possibly be entitled to pay a home fee.

I got into the UK with a student visa in Sept 2007 and got married to my partner who is a British national in Feb 2008 my Visa category was transfered from student to Spouse in September 2009. And l will like to know of any source of information or of any experience that could prove or demonstrate that l should be entitled to paying a home fee.

Thanks a lot for your contributions :D

You need to be free of immigration control for three years for home fees, ie three years on ILR/PR. Uni's have different policies tho and u might be lucky if they need the cash.

I think you might be entitled to home fee if you have been married to your husband for a year or more ( which is your case)

No this isn't true I'm afraid.
I tell it like it is.
