Married to Person on DV visa

Post by Mrshabi » Wed Jan 22, 2025 12:23 pm

Good Afternoon
I’m sorry if I’m posting in wrong subject but will highly appreciate if anyone can help answer some questions

i’m marrying to someone who is currently on Domestic Violence visa (3 years)
1 . Can I switch my status to spouse visa or dependent visa of that person ?(I’m currently on PSW visa)

I would want to switch to spouse but don’t know if
It’s possible.

Any help will be highly appreciated

Are you sure the person is on a Domestic Violence visa? Normally, a victim of Domestic Violence is issued ILR directly. And of course a person on ILR can sponsor you if they earn £29,000.

As an aside, even a person on a Domestic Violence visa needs a divorce (a decree absolute) before remarrying. Have you checked that the person you plan to marry is divorced?
