medical certificate

Post by actuary » Mon Aug 31, 2009 10:20 am

hi all, my wife got her hsmp dependent visa on thursday 27th aug and I have flown in to take her back with me to the UK. However, the whole process has taken 6 months (was rejected once) and during this her medical certificate has expired (10 days ago). I tried arranging an appointment for her and the next available date is 9th september. I want her to fly out with me the coming friday, and wanted to find out if I get her chest x-ray done (that's what they did last time), would that be good enough?

Thanks

I am suprised your wife was issued with a visa, as they normally dont do it till they see a valid TB certificate. The Brtish Embassy normally recommends that you use their approved medical test centre.

I dont know whether others would be accepted if and when your wife is asked to present it on her arrival at the UK airport.

Hi, the passport was stamped with visa around early second week of august, whereas the medical certificate expired a week after that, however we received the passport back just a few days ago. It was this time when the certificate expired, now I am stuck cos of the next available date :)

I suppose she can travel and then on arrival here claim that she wasnt aware that it had expired. I wouldnt think they would send her back becuase of this..... but it is a risk.

Alternative is for her to wait till she gets it done and then arrive by herself and you could meet her at the airport
