Meeting English language with Degree taught in English

Post by visa_help » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:18 am

Hi all,

I just went through the guidance file for filing the new Tier 1 application within UK. I did my Bachelors in Engineering in India (4 years) under Anna University. I did my masters (1 year) in UK.

In order to meet the English language requirements I was wondering whether I have to take IELTS or Get a letter from Bachelors Uni saying my degree was taught in English. But when I went through the guidance I am surprised that the letter from Bachelors uni is not specified. Also, I used Self Assessment tool in BIA website which recognize either of my qualifications and says i have MET the English language requirement.

Does this mean who ever came to UK to do masters (Obviously taken IELTS or relevant English testing systems) are deemed to meet the Language requirements for Tier 1 application? Or as my bachelor degree was recognized to meet the requirement, shouldn't I have to submit a letter from Bachelors uni?

Any ideas guys???

Cheers
