Regarding 450 days outside UK rule for BC application

I got my ILR through 10 year rule on August 2017 and travelled away from UK on November 1 2017. I will be away for about 7 months (planning to return on June) and am thinking of applying for Naturalisation in June/July 2019. I will be away from the UK for about 200 days until June 2017 and about 250...

Applying for Naturalisation after more than 90 days outside the UK

I got my ILR on August 2017 through the 10 years long residency and have been outside of the UK since November and plan to still be outside of the UK till around the end of April. I am not in a hurry to get the Citizenship but had a few questions just in case. Am I correct in assuming that I won't b...

Correct Change of Address Form

Hi Folks, I moved to a new address 2 weeks ago and as per the requirement, I am trying to fill up a 'Change of Circumstance' form to inform the Home Office but the form that I found in the gov.uk website states that 'The form is to be used for applications made on or after 26 April 2014 whereas my a...

A few questions regarding Tier 2 Extension and Lawyer fees

Hi there folks, I am currently in the UK with a Tier 2 General visa which expires on the 27th of February. My current would be continuing their Sponsorship. Their A rated licence is valid until the end of January next year. I am the only employee who requires a CoS at the firm. What are the document...

Tier 2 to Tier 4 [Questions on Costs/Maintenance for a PHD]

Hello folks, I currently have a Tier 2 Employer Sponsored visa which is up for renewal in about 6 months time and while I am planning to do so and my employer will probably do it as well, I want to have a backup just in case things don't work out as expected. I am thinking of applying for a PhD sinc...

Hi Jambo,

Thanks for your reply. The only reason he is so worried is because he has not heard anything from them yet and it has been about 20 days since the post has been received.

E-mailing just got us an automated message with some generic information.

Problem with payment address

Hello everyone, A relative of mine made an application for Citizenship along with his wife and son. The total fee was 2052. He sent two card details for payment. One was approved and the other was not. So for the remaining 1,000.00 GBP; he was asked to send it by 14 days on the acknowledgement lette...

It is not going to be case of one or two 'solid' documents. Rather how satisfied is the ECO that the applicant does not intend to remain in UK beyond the visa life. If the applicant is claiming to be employed, then a consistent pattern of his salary being paid into the bank account is just one aspe...

How much proof was sent of your nephew's commitment to go back? He doesn't earn much and failed to provide any proof of this income. Did he provide any solid proof of going back once his visit is over? Who is paying for his visit as it doesn't seem that he would be able to afford it? Was the time h...

It's very simple. The can't see any economic ties for the nephew and think he will simply stay in the UK. He needs to re-apply with more credible evidence of his means and motivation to return to Nepal after the visit. The nationality typo is not relevant to anything and does not affect the reasons...

Without the exact details of the applicants and the exact wording of the refusal, you are wasting your time asking for help with this. Apologies for the lack of details. I have attached the refusal letter by removing the personal details. I hope that would provide the necessary information for prov...

Refusal of entry (Incorrect details on the refusal letter)

Now the thing that has perplexed us is the blatantly incorrect information on the refusal letter. They have incorrect nationality on t...

Possibility of applying for Licence and Permit together

Hello folks, Apologies if it is a repeat question but I couldn't find a straight answer and am getting conflicting views from two people who applied for similar visa. I want to apply for Tier 2 General and my employer are more than happy to do so. Now the problem is they don't yet have licence and e...

Hello folks, I recently got a job offer from a small employer and they are willing to apply for my work permit as well and I had some questions I would be grateful if I got some answers on. I am currently in a PSW which ends by the first week of February. The company does not yet have a COS but are ...

Some Questions regarding PSW to Tier 2

Hi there, I am currently in a PSW which ends in February 2013. I am also working at a job for about 6 month and a friend of mine said he might be able to offer a job but the starting salary would be about 16-18k as it is a junior role. Looking at the rules, I am slightly confused about these points....

Can I Study with a Post-Study Visa while doing Intern-ship?

Hello everyone, I am currently on PSW visa from February. I was offered an internship with a possibility to do a masters course as well. So will I need to change anything on my visa to do both intership and masters at the same time? The visa will easily cover the period of masters and internship. Th...

Applying within 3 months of when you graduate is alright as it gives you time to get your certificate issued and also meet the financial requirement as well. You can always switch back to student visa but you can get the psw only once. I hope that helps. Thank you Diokpa. It definitely helps a lot....

Re: Stay in Studnet Visa or Change to PSW?

Well technically, you must go back or extend or switch your visa to other category, after you finish your studies. If you want to wait and apply for PSW 8-10 months after your studies, the HO may ask you what you were doing in this gap period as you were expected by HO to leave this country after y...

Stay in Studnet Visa or Change to PSW?

Hello everyone, I am currently in the second year of my student visa with 2 more years remaining. I was supposed to do a 4 years undergraduate because of a foundation year the university thought was necessary for me to be able to undertake the course. But after I showed all my qualifications directl...
