refund from Solicitor

Hi Guys, Random question here; Does anyone know of any effective way of obtaining refund back from a solicitor? Paid a large sum of money to a solicitor. As she asked for it as a sign of commitment. For months, nothing was done. Demanded a refund, since I don't need her service anymore. She has prom...

Re: EEA application from UK Spouse Visa

Thanks a lot Vinny. So, what would make the argument strong, asides marriage ? Living together at least 2 years - is this actually strong enough ? Or marriage is the only way to strengthen my application ? Also, as my divorce was not finalised by the time my current partner and I were in a relations...

Re: EEA application from UK Spouse Visa

Hi All,

Please, since no reply. Am I of the impression I've asked a stupid question and all I need to do is more research? If that's the case, a sign and I will do more research.

Felt I should ask and to verify the advice given hence the post.

Cheers.

EEA application from UK Spouse Visa

Hi Helpful members, Please assist with the below: So I'm currently due to go on appeal for the decision made on my ILR application which is linked to my now expired UK spouse visa application. I'm no more with my British wife - for other reasons entirely. Now, I intend to withdraw the appeal, as I d...

Re: Proxy Marriage Related

Well i don't know the details of your case, so cannot recommend. I can simply say that you should ensure your case is consistent with TA. Obie, please confirm that by saying I should ensure that my case is consistent with TA (although don't know that meaning of TA). Do you mean the 'durable relatio...

Re: Proxy Marriage Related

You may want to bear in mind that a proxy marriage (when you are both resident in the UK) is as likely to flag up a suspicion of a sham marriage as much (if not more so) as a marriage taking place here. Especially considering your ongoing fight to remain in the UK after your previous marriage faile...

Re: Proxy Marriage Related

Also see TA I think it is sensible to ignore Mr Vine. He talks what he likes, without any concrete proof to back his assertion. Hi Obie, So I've read the case and gone through the Kazeem case, reference was always made to. Please correct me if I say the only positive to take from here is the 'durab...

Re: Proxy Marriage Related

Whether or not you're a fan of Jeremy Vine, if you're both resident in the UK, why aren't you marrying here? Unless you're afraid of your marriage being considered a sham? Well to be fair, with the rate of embarrassment and humiliation cased on genuine couple at registry, and the laws coming into e...

Re: Proxy Marriage Related

Hi Obie, So still reading it, gone through the document. Still an on going through it again. But from my first reading, it appears that the case was about granting appeal and not a decision whether to grant the families (spouse and children of the Dutch national) an EEA resident permit. So, am I rig...

Re: Proxy Marriage Related

Hi Obie,

Cheers for the response.

So what would you recommend?

If I'm going by the good advise from members here, my past post. Marriage here in registry or church (safe) would be advisable. Then apply.

Am I on the right track with the above?

i All, Again I'm here to run few things by you all. Your advise are indispensable. I'm currently in a relationship with an EEA national. We are now moving in together. We are doing this while I'm waiting for my divorce to finalise (from a British national). And you should know that my 2- year Spouse...

Already paid over half of the amount. I'm having to pay the last instalments. Just made me think when I saw another on here for 1000 GBP.

Won't be worried if the experience and skills justifies it.

Solicitor fees.

Hi, Is 1650 GBP for solicitor fees (not including home office 1093 GBP) helping with ILR via domestic route a little too much than the average price? Just need to know. Cheers And, in addition to the above. How do you check a lawyers experience? Any government website that keeps account of every cas...

I was just in thought and figured I think loudly here. Don't know what I'm hoping to hear from you guys...just dunno. This is just a random thought. So, has anybody out there had their hopes dashed and destroyed by the home office and how did you cope? Especially when you have A LOT riding on your l...

Re: Possible Reasons for refusal for ILR??

Thanks a lot for your reply Pelen. Much appreciated. I only moved out when I could not handle the effect it was having on me. Surely, I wasn't expected to leave the country because I moved out. With regards to sympathy. I did suffer from domestic violence, hence the application. Issue is the eviden...

Possible Reasons for refusal for ILR??

Hi Guys, One of the grounds for refusal for DV-ILR is if the applicant is currently the subject of a deportation order. Question: Is there a way of knowing if you are? Situation: My wife has already reported to the Home Office about our marriage breakdown and she has been replied to. Thing is, I'm s...
