Most HSMPs may not arrive on the date of stamp / date of entry as per the HSMP visa. Many may arrive few days or a month later. So does this mean that all these HSMPs have to apply for HSMP extension again after the end of 5 year period.. I think many candidates will be affected.. Are there not any ...

HSMP ILR - 5 years calculation

Apologies if this question has been answered before, I could not find it. I entered UK three months after the HSMP Visa was stamped on my passport. So, when my extended HSMP visa ends I would have completed 4 years and 9 months of actual stay in UK. At the end of my current HSMP extension, (a) Can I...

HSMP - Prospects in London

I am an HSMP holder and is currently in Scotland. For better job prospects, I wish to move to London. Questions: (1) Is it sensible to move to London for better job prospects and better rates? (2) I have school going kids. Which is the best part of London to set up family? (3) In which part of Londo...

Understanding the application status

I received my FLR(HSMP) application status as "awaiting consideration by a caseworker"

Does this mean that my application is under consideration by the caseworker (OR) my application is yet to be assigned to a caseworker?

Is copy of tenancy agreement required for FLR(HSMP)?

Can anyone provide information on if copy of tenancy agreement needs to be attached with FLR(HSMP)? I do have the copy of tenancy agreement, but I don't want to attach if it is not really required.

NO. Only one attempt is allowed within the 10 weeks grace period. If you fail in the first attempt within the grace period, your application will be refused.

If you are contracting through a Limited company not owned by you, and the company pays salary, then you are effectively "Salaried Employee" of the company. I think this is called Composite Company arrangement. As long as the pay slips show the salary, dividends, and the contract income reconciliati...

I think you are an employee of the Limited Company. So, you are salaried..
However, you can show your dividends, if they are earned income.

You will not be disadvantaged.

But the guidance notes say that Income Tax Return is mandatory, even if we provide pay slips, bank statements, dividend voucher etc., Not sure how I can fulfill this requirement since: - I have not completed one tax year, so no Tax return possible - I have not got P60 as I have not completed one yea...

Markie, Thanks for your reply. P60 appears to be end of year certificate, and P45 appears to be a certificate issued when leaving a job. Neither is appropriate in my case as I have not completed one Tax year nor left any job. I am in continuous employment under one employer. How can I handle this? F...

Those who have arrived after January 2006, and applying for extension in the next month: Please share your experience on how you are handling the IT returns requirement in the HSMP extension form. There is real problem for those who are close to the expiry of initial HSMP period. How can such people try for a job, with Visa expiring in the next 2/3 months? If they don't keep earning, their points are going to be reduced..

Those who have only IELTS requirements lacking, I feel this can be easily solved by registering for the exam. They give the result within 13 days, so you can attach the score with the application. I feel scoring Band 6 should not be difficult.

If you are in contract kind of jobs, you hardly get time. When the extension becomes a question mark, it is very stressful. Fin...

It appears that significant percentage are affected. Guys, when you vote put some comments also on how you are affected. With no comments, this poll will go far below the other postings, losing visibility. Moderators, in view of the inportance of the issue, can you consider making this poll "sticky"?
