Re: Spouse of British citizen

Wife got married in UK on marriage visit visa and then left for less than six months to do spouse visa application and came back at seven months after marriage point. She switched after that to EU settlement scheme route. She applied for settled status at exactly 5 years after marriage point and got...

Re: Spouse of British citizen

Pre settled does not meet the requirement to be free from immigration control at date of application. Settled status is needed for that.

When did you get married ? As if 5 years ago she may be able to apply for settled status then citizenship

Re: What is deadline to travel after spouse visa granted?is it 28 days?

Used to be (think it was actually 30 days) but under covid period was extended to 90 days which is a more reasonable value. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-uk-visa-applicants-and-temporary-uk-residents#:~:text=We%20strongly%20advise%20that%20you,again%20to%20update%20your...

Re: Marriage on Standard UK visitor visa

Worth speaking with registrar where you want to get married as I understand they make decision on whether to let you marry. Worth being aware that settlement and marriage in this situation are different. Whilst I believe you can get married you would normally be expected to be on either a fiance vis...

Re: NHS charges for settlement child.

There was and probably still is a bug in the system in that children don't get charged the IHS charges at point of application and they then chase by email saying it has to be paid within a very short period. You don't mention partners status and this is relevant. From what I remember if both parent...

Schengen visa for non-EU mother traveling with Irish child

Wife is looking to get Schengen visa to travel to France with our child who has Irish passport for tourism purposes. Can she go for the relative of EU citizen visa as opposed to normal visa - suspect bit easier to get and saves on the visa fee and think reading the info our child (age 2) should be g...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

It is very frustrating. Got two kids applications in at moment and still waiting with issue date of 26 January and been stuck at processing for more than a month. Been worried that may be an issue but not sure if passing the documents being verified is a good sign or not. In December mine changed f...

Re: Passport Card Option Not Available For Minor?

My reading of the guidance is if applying for first child passport cannot get a passport card. None of passport applications that I did for three children gave me option of getting passport card. Assume will be an option in several years when I renew them.

Re: Passport Card Option Not Available For Minor?

From web page

https://www.dfa.ie/passportcard/

Under 18
You can only get a Passport Card with a Passport Book as part of a bundle which is an option you can select when renewing your child’s passport online.
Passport Cards for under 18s will be valid for the same period as the Passport Book

Re: UK Spouse Visa application for US citizen legally resident in Ireland

Key issues are

1. When did you get married ?
2. How long have YOU lived in UK (including N Ireland)
3. How long has she been living in Ireland.

Probably worth adding these details and posting in the EU settlement section.

Re: Born abroad and adopted under Irish law.

The law and the requirements list for applying for a passport are different. Law is that adopting parent has to be Irish citizen. Passport application specifically asks for details of the passport that was issued before the overseas adoption was done and registered. Situation is wrong in my opinion ...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Got two kids passports stuck in system. Think one moved to processing on Thursday 27th and the other one is still stuck on verification. Both past the estimated issue dates of 25 and 26 January. Had thought that processing to printing was the quick bit or if issue would get feed back quickly.

Re: Marriage in UK and settlement after

My understanding of the EU settlement scheme option is that you needed to be married or in settled relationship with appropriate evidence at the 31st December 2020. Worth dropping the question in the EU settlement folder to see if someone with better knowledge can provide evidence to the contrary or...

Not sure on where you are living but if in EU then might be worth checking EU settlement scheme. Likewise not enough info to tell whether you have the opportunity to apply late or can meet the timelines. Can try posting with more details there to see if get better advice in qualifying. Would also co...
