Re: Citizen Application letter, with local authority 50miles away

Further update, in case someone ends up in similar situation I contacted my Local Authority (Hackney) as well as Milton Keynes this morning. Milton Keynes were unaware about the error, and asked me to book the ceremony if I want to. Hackney (my local authority), got in touch with me and sorted it ou...

Re: Citizen Application letter, with local authority 50miles away

Further updates:

I checked the Milton Keynes Council citizenship ceremony page; they have an online system to book for ceremony and the online booking system verifies my details i.e. I'm due to attend the ceremony by 21st Jan.

Not really pleased with this admin error made by HO.

Re: Citizen Application letter, with local authority 50miles away

Transferring the certificate from one council to another can take a while, as the certificate will need to be returned to the Home Office, who will then pass it to your local council. The Home Office contact detail should be in their letter to you. It may be much faster to arrange the ceremony with...

What did you state on the form as to where you’d like the ceremony to be held?
I have just checked on the application I submitted, I said NO to this question,
'Do you want to attend a ceremony in a different council?'

Citizen Application letter, with local authority 50miles away

Hello, I received my approval letter (dated 29th Oct) from HO. In the letter, the Local Authority HO mentioned is 50 miles away from my residence (I reside in London Hackney; HO letter say Milton Keynes). I've received no letter from either of the council yet. My query is, how do I go around changin...

Re: When to apply for ILR (SET M)

1. You should start your own topic with your circumstances and questions instead of tagging onto other users threads. 2. You start counting from date of FLR(M) visa start date and can apply no sooner than within 28 days prior to that date. Fiance visa does not count towards the residence period for...

Re: When to apply for ILR (SET M)

Your wife can apply for ILR no earlier than 28 days before she reaches 5 years of residence from the date she entered the UK. This is assuming she entered on a spouse visa and not as a fiancee. Thought to pick this up rather than creating a new topic .... Similar question about Qualifying period wh...

Re: Lost in the system - Schengen Tourist vs. Business Visa

Can you confirm your tourist visa was free in accordance with your EU treaty rights, or did you pay a visa fee? This was my 4th Schengen Visa, applied through exercising my EU treaty rights - I've always been given free visa, and I've always applied directly to consulates (France, Spain, Italian). ...

Re: Lost in the system - Schengen Tourist vs. Business Visa

Italian Consulate replied with following It is not possible to cancel it. You can apply for a German Schengen Visa starting from the first day after the expiration date of the previous one. This is very contradicting. I just play by rules and seems like I'm getting the beating here. How hard is to c...

Lost in the system - Schengen Tourist vs. Business Visa

I will keep this short (and somewhat snappy) I have multiple entry Schengen Tourist Visa from Italian Consulate, valid until 28/10 (acquired through exercising spouse of British national). I have a conference to go to in Germany on the 2nd week of Oct; I went to German Consulate to get the Business ...

Congrats Magicman. I think its fair to say that since they implemented new visa application system, there has been quick turnaround for new applicants. Since, I'm in the same boat as your Miss Magicman, let me know how you get on with Polio and TB certificate. I've booked ticket for first week of ne...

Re: Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

MashAllah, great news Crimbo. Very fast processing times. Could it be new applications are being sent to the UKVI Decision making centres, and old applications are still being looked at by BHC in Islamabad? Seems like it to me. Must be a back log at the BHC. Could you also tell us which method you ...

Re: Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

Bit of digress. Could somebody please put their Gerry fedex experience? what they have gone through being in any of the centre in Pakistan? This would help many people to prepare in advance. Thanks in advance. Cheers Yes, very recently actually at Gerry's Lahore office. One tip, make sure to photoc...

Re: Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

I believe that new applications with GWF numbers can only be tracked online via email, chat or call to UKVI directly and you can't use the VFS Global Tracking service. My wife applied a few days ago and was only given the same GWF Number that we knew of and nothing else, so this surely must be the ...

How old the bank statements should be?

Since my partner who is my sponsor, is sending me documents, the timeline is such that when I will receive the documents , the last bank statement will be older than ...
