Partner has pre-settled status but I became British citizen in the meantime - when eligible to apply for settled status?

Hello, got quite a complex issue, so I will list the scenario: Both EU citizens, I've been living in the UK since 2012, she joined me in December 2017 In March 2019 we filled the EU settlement scheme applications: I got settled, she got pre-settled - thus, she will be eligible to get settled status ...

You don't get an acknowledgement for attending the appointment or anything.

You now just wait to hear back.

It is normal.
Fabulous, thank you very much!

UKVCAS - do you get confirmation email etc after the visit?

Hello, I have attended the Sopra UKVCAS appointment, left my biometry and my uploaded documents were checked. I was done with the appointment in less than 10 minutes, told by the official that all documents uploaded ticked the requirement boxes and that there is nothing else I need to do and I'm fre...

Visits abroad in the 5 years qualification period.

Hello, I did my biometrics enrolment today. And when I logged into the UKVCAS account, I've noticed that my "visas" pages were scanned by the officials. In my application, I told them that I was abroad, but, for e.g. on one occasion I went back home to Poland for 30 days and within this period of ti...

Re: Any difference between the Referees and Identity forms online and from the AN application?

Two referees forms for two different referees. Fabulous, good thing that I have good amount of passport photos printed, I thought that I needed only one. And the form itself is straightforward, just a name and signature with a date. And I told them that they have to prepare to fill in sections and ...

Re: Any difference between the Referees and Identity forms online and from the AN application?

The link that aman90 has provided is what the online form looks like and is for all applications! You should not be using the paper form. Really? Oh wow, that makes my life much easier! So I just need to print the one for the 1st Referee and the second one for the 2nd Referee? And I thought that I ...

Re: Any difference between the Referees and Identity forms online and from the AN application?

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/documents/1st_Referee_Declaration_MN1.pdf Did you try doing a google search..?!? This is what you need to get signed. Only one referee needs to hold a British passport. This is the MN1 form for registering child under 18 as a British Citizen. Completely diff...

Any difference between the Referees and Identity forms online and from the AN application?

Hi, this might be a bit strange question but I have to ask it, better be safe than sorry! I'm doing my naturalisation application online and I'm stuck till Wednesday, waiting for one of my referee getting back to me with a passport number. I want to speed things up a bit and send the form tomorrow f...

Days outside UK - how are they calculated?

I have two examples of being outside UK. Just wanted to check how would these be calculated? Example 1: 01/02/2016 -> flight to Ireland (6am flight) 02/02/2016 -> flight back to UK (8pm flight) How many days absence are in this case? Zero or one day? Theoretically it should be zero, as I was in UK o...

Partner claiming benefits - does it affects my application

My partner wants to get some benefits while she is looking after our newborn child (she was fired by her employer once she became pregnant as she was in her probationary period, so no maternity leave). Does her taking the benefits (universal credit and child benefit) might have negative impact onto ...

Re: British Citizenship - does studying abroad for one semester counts toward absence?

One last thing (sorry for two posts in the row, not sure how to edit my previous post), I have found the following EU rules, that (still?) are applicable to UK: Continuity of residence 3.—(1) This regulation applies for the purpose of calculating periods of continuous residence in the United Kingdom...

Re: British Citizenship - does studying abroad for one semester counts toward absence?

I believe Vinny is correct. You are citing the requirements of a different provision of the statute relating to Naturalization, which is that the applicant must demonstrate that they intend to make the UK their permanent home. The residence requirements is different from that requirements and there...

Re: British Citizenship - does studying abroad for one semester counts toward absence?

I doubt that they will ignore the absence. Okay, but even in the document you have attached it is clearly stated, that studying abroad might be considered as an exception to the rule. Semester abroad was a core part of my degree and I can't believe that I might be penalised for this. https://i.imgu...

British Citizenship - does studying abroad for one semester counts toward absence?

Hi, I'm EU national and I have Permanent Residence Card for almost 1 year. I want to start the British Citizenship application but I have a problem with the absence period rules. During my degree I had to travel to France for one semester as a part of my degree, as an Erasmus+ exchange student. Thus...
