He then said that I should hear back within 6-8 weeks which I find hard to believe but will be nice if it happens. He said there will be no email confirmation. I am in exactly the same situation. I applied through UKVCAS as well and had to insist they scan my whole current and previous passport (to cover the stamps for 5 years). They seemed reluctant but were nice and courteous. Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it. If UKVCAS are incompetent then it is HO's...

You should complain to the official UKVCAS email and also to HO. I agree, the whole system feels like a fiasco. Most people who applied in November and used the UKVCAS system have not received their approval yet. A lot of people who applied under the old system seem to have received their approval....
