Re: Tier 2 Dependent (now with ILR) applying for Citizenship

Thank you for the response.

On the English language requirement, mainly because it was already done as part of ILR, but we can attach the same evidence anyway

Tier 2 Dependent (now with ILR) applying for Citizenship

Hi, My wife joined me in the UK as a Tier 2 dependent back in Feb 2017. In Feb 2023, she got her ILR after passing Life in the UK test. Now a year later, we think she qualifies to apply for citizenship. I wanted to ask if she needs to demonstrates English language competence? What form needs to be f...

ILR application for Dependent of Tier 2 general

Hi, I got my ILR about 18 months ago through Tier 2 General (5 year route). Now my partner also qualifies as my dependent, so we're making an application. Can anyone please clarify if I need to provide minimum amount of funds for a minimum period of time in my bank? Or is it simply based on monthly ...

Re: Registration of a child under 18 as a British citizen

Thank you for the response. Can someone also please confirm, whether the 'professional' reference for a child definitely needs to be someone who has dealt with the child directly in a professional manner? We have a friend who is an accountant and was willing to be the 'professional' reference, but I...

Re: Registration of a child under 18 as a British citizen

There is also a question whether the applicant has lived at the address for 5 years. If the applicant is a 2 year old, is the answer to the above question 'Yes' ?

Registration of a child under 18 as a British citizen

Hi, I am applying for British citizenship for my son who was born in the UK at the time I wasn't 'settled' (now I am via Tier 2 General route). There is a question in the online application which caused some confusion. It's under the Parents Immigration Status heading: Are you relying on your paren...

Re: UK Tier 2 ILR Visa

You're over-thinking bro. You need to demonstrate the minimum salary requirement for ILR at the time of ILR application, not at Tier 2 extension. So as long as your salary on the CoS is in line with the SOC code for your occupation, you're fine. Worry about ILR salary requirement at the time of qual...

Re: Tier 4 to Tier 2 General job terminated before joining

Sorry to hear about your situation. When I switched my Tier 2 sponsor, I did not have to reapply for my spouse's visa. So I don't think you have to, as long as it is still within validity date. You just re-applying for your own visa with a new sponsor details. To answer your question about surcharge...

Re: Wife Tier 2 Dependent Extension Few Questions

Hi CR001, HO charge me £2000.00 for IHS after I enter my ILR expiry date is that mean she will get five years visa this time & if thats correct that would be great because her visa was just 20 months I did clearly state to put your ILR expiry date as 2023 and the day/month you are planning to submi...

Dependents of, previously Tier 2 now ILR

Hello, I have recently acquired ILR via 5 Year Tier 2 Employer sponsored route. 1. Whilst on Tier 2 visa, we had a baby born in the UK, who is currently on PBS Dependent visa. What route is most suitable to acquire citizenship? Will he need to first apply for ILR? 2. My wife is also on a Tier 2 Depe...

Re: Typical for Employers to Pay for ILR?

Employers generally don't pay for ILR. However, that doesn't mean it's not worth trying - My employer paid for the Super Priority application. You'll need to put a good business case to justify your worth to the company. I basically told my employer that I couldn't legally work for them after my cur...

Change of Employment - Notice Period

Hi all, I have just received my new BRP after my Change of Employment application was successful. I handed in my notice yesterday. Unfortunately, I received the visa a little later than expected, which means I cannot complete my full notice period of 4 weeks. My employer insists that I complete my 4...

Tier 2 Extension - Apply 28 days before Expiry?

Hi, I am looking to extend my Tier 2 General visa with the same employer in the same SOC. My visa expires in August 2017, but I want to apply for it now to avoid any unexpected surprises in change in rules or experienced salary requirements in April 2017. I rang UKVI on 0300 1232241 and they said I ...

Re: Tier 2 General Visa Extension

The experienced rate salary fluctuates (usually goes up) and is reviewed twice a year. I want to mitigate that risk by applying now that I am fulfilling all requirements.

So, does that any one know if there is any restriction on this timeframe?

Thanks

Tier 2 General Visa Extension

Hi,

My 3 year Tier 2 General expires in September 2017. Is there anything in the rules that prevent me from applying for an extension in September 2016, a year in advance? Or do I need to wait until it's closer to the current expiry date?

Thanks

Tier 2 Dependent - English Language Requirement

Hi,

I will be adding my partner to my existing Tier 2 General visa soon. Can anyone please tell me whether there is any minimum requirement to take an English Language test as part of the application?

Regards,

Tier 2 Extension - Experienced Salary Rate

Hello, I am seeking some guidance on Tier 2 extension, especially with regards to the requirement of 'experienced' salary rate. I am currently on a Tier 2 visa (switched from Tier 4) that was granted in late 2014 for a period of three years. I was hired as a permanent employee and it was/is expected...
