Re: First time passport application

Hi All Can someone please suggest what is the next status after 'Application processing' if the application has made some progress ? It has been showing the same status as 'Application processing' for weeks now. After about 12 weeks, mine changed on Thursday from “Application processing” to “Your p...

Re: First time passport application

Webchat is available during work hours. If you see it greyed out, it means the queue is full. You just have to refresh the webpage. If you have a vacant computer, run a little macro to get it refreshed once every minute or so until the button turns back on. The web chat was unavailable when I start...

Re: First time passport application

Many congratulations to those who are starting to receive their passports. Good to know that things are definitely starting to move. I wondered if the staff were working behind the scenes over weekends as well as the backlog must be massive? Still patiently hanging in there myself. Applied 23/12, p...

Re: First time passport application

There's some hope for receiving our first time passports sooner than later, someone on another forum confirmed that their status has changed to printing yesterday. They applied back in Feb and submitted documents in early May with an estimated issue date of 25th of May - so roughly two weeks past e...

Re: First time passport application

Not sure how are they planning on "clearing the backlog" by the end of June (6-8 weeks) if no passports (seemingly) were issued for first time applicants since reopening. I'd expect them to at least process some of the applications and print some of the passports, unless they are "processing" all o...

Re: First time passport application

Like I said, just ignore the progress bar. It never ever worked for one day since the introduction of the online application... You can always track the actual progress by chatting to the passport staff during work hours on DFA website. Thanks, that’s worth knowing. Luckily, I’m not in a rush, but ...

Re: First time passport application

Just checked this morning. Yesterday my status was still saying “processing application” but the progress bar was completely full - so I was feeling pretty optimistic. This morning, the bar has gone BACK to around 3/4 full! No indication of why. Estimated issue date was 18/5, and although I...

Re: First time passport application

I applied online on 23/12 and send supporting documentation and the end of March. My progress bar is a tiny fraction from the end (if that makes sense?! ) and I have an estimated due date of 18/5. I’m hoping that as I haven’t heard anything by now, all paperwork is in order and I’m nearing th...

Re: First time passport application

I applied for mine online in 23/12 but didn’t submit supporting documentation until mid April, as per advice on the site. My progress bar on the live tracking link shows more than 3/4 full so, assuming it’s pretty accurate and reflective of headway, it shouldn’t be much longer. The estimated date of...

Hi there,

I just scanned the photo page with my personal details. That has all the info needed including your passport number.

Hope that helps?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Danny, I had exactly the same question so I messaged the live chat page. The passport office is happy to accept a certified copy of your current passport providing the signatory is from one of the approved on the list. Solicitor doctor, teacher etc. I quite agree - it isn’t clear on the form at a...

Re: Irish passport supporting documents

Many thanks for your reply - much appreciated.

As advised, I contacted the web chat service and they have confirmed that a certified copy IS acceptable. It isn’t made clear on the form.

I hope this information might be useful to anyone else who comes across this.

Irish passport supporting documents

My apologies if this has been asked before. I’ve had a look through the forum and can’t find a similar question. My son submitted a paper application in December with certified copies of his British passport/driving licence. Yesterday, everything was returned with a cover letter advising him that al...

Re: FBR document return

Just wanted to see if anyone else had received their documentation back yet? Still waiting for mine following the email confirming FBR on 19/10. I’m assuming it’s because of the continuing lockdown, not that they have got lost in the post! :?
