Wife is now a British citizen

I want to start by thanking all the good folks of these forums that have helped us through the past years. Seriously, thank you so much . Without your help, we would have struggled a lot. Wife received an email on the 22nd of September saying this: I am pleased to confirm that your application for B...

Wife's Dad is sick, she's in the middle of a citizen application, can she visit him and come back to the UK?

Hello all My wife's Dad is sick. She hasn't seen her family in 3 years. She will be devastated if her Dad dies and she doesn't see him one last time. She has a Syrian passport (expired) and she has applied for her British Citizenship. Although her family is Syrian, they live in the KRG (North Iraq)....

Re: Supporting documents checklist question

Hello everyone Yesterday we got the email about the UKVCAS IDV app, we downloaded it on wife's Pixel 2 (Android phone). When we logged in, we noticed that all the documents we had uploaded on the UKVACS website were present which was a nice surprise, I thought I might have to re-upload all documents...

Re: Supporting documents checklist question

Great, all is uploaded now. Not sure what happens next, I assume we just wait now. The email had this: We are also working closely with UKVI to develop a new way for you to submit a facial image. Once this is launched, you will have to submit your facial image as part of the identification verificat...

Re: Supporting documents checklist question

Guys, one more thing. None of the upload sections are dedicated to the referees.

Am I OK to upload the completed referees forms to the Other section?

Re: Supporting documents checklist question

Thank you CR001. I did read the AN Guide, but evidently I didn't read it well enough :( I shall continue uploading what I can. I do find it strange that you said we only need to upload the passport for: Evidence that you have been in the UK lawfully for your 3 or 5 year qualifying residence period I...

Re: Supporting documents checklist question

Thanks, if the question had made it clear that it meant EU (non-british) that I doubt that I would have ticked yes. But if it just said EU, then am I really at fault? :( I just had a look at my completed, submitted application. You mean this question , correct? As you can see, it doesn't say non-bri...

Supporting documents checklist question

Hello everyone We have just received an email from UKVCAS saying that an appointment in person is not necessary because not long ago my wife went in for her ILR and gave fingerprints/biometrics. So I have proceeded to download the checklist and in there I see two things that are not clear to me. If ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hello folks So I've filled in wife's Naturalisation application and made the payment ...etc. All that is left to do is getting an appointment with UKVCAS but it seems impossible. No matter what centre I choose and whatever date I choose, there are no appointments available. What are we to do in this...

Great thank you, she does and she has received her ILR BPR.

Is it true that one can apply for the Naturalisation and the passport in one go?

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain for Wife

Hi guys

Wife just recieved her Indefinite Leav to Remain, thank you so much.

Can she now proceed to apply for Naturalisation? Or does she have to wait a certain period of time?

Also, can she apply for Naturalisation and passports at the same time?

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain for Wife

Hi Guys

I'm trying to book a UKCAS appointment, and even though I've selected Core Service, I don't see any free slots. I keep going as far into the future as the system allows me and I can't see a single empty FREE slot!

What am I to do?

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain for Wife

hmm but in the checklist of things to provide, we are asked for proof of the mortgage payments and the council tax payments.

I'm worried that if those are not in the wife's name, they might cause problems?

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain for Wife

Apologies Zimba, I shall leave it all in one post.

So it is OK that we put she owns it even though she doesn't technically? Why aren't these questions important? and what questions are important?

Question about home ownership?

Hi guys There's a question that asks: Home details Do you own or rent your home? (Required) We do own our house, but the mortgage is in my name only. What should the wife select (this is the wife's application for ILR)? The options are: 1. I own 2. I rent 3. Neither own or rent Selecting 3 gives a t...

Thanks, yep the test is listed as an approved test. I found out that ISE means Integrated Skills in English. They do it at the Leeds centre, so we'll apply there. Thank you.

Actually, I've just seen that there's a centre in Leeds. That's even closer for us. But they do ISE and GESE. What do those acronyms stand for?

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain for Wife

Oh that's a relief, thank you. I checked their list, the closest test centre to us is this one . I don't know what IELTS stands for and I don't know what they mean by all facets . I can call the test centre to book, but what do I ask of the operator? I feel like the receptions wouldn't know what I'm...
