Do dependants of work permit holders need biometrics?

Hello everyone

Child was born in the UK last December. Child's father has leave as a work permit holder until 2014. Now the child needs to apply as his dependant. Is the child required to enrol biometrics, i.e. face scan?

Thanks

Yes, Amanda. I know. It seems like this is not a simple case.

Again, thank you very much for your input.

Hi Amanda and thanks for your input. If a man's name is added to the birth certificate as being the father of child, he becomes the legal father of the child. The birth certificate is re-issued with the father's name. The only difference is the date at the bottom of the certificate which is not the ...

This is the link about bringing relatives to the UK http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/partnersandfamilies/elderlydependentrelatives/ but you have probably read about the subject already. Would you be able to apply again, and this time ask for the case to be considered by a senior casework team? I do...

British citizenship by descent

I know this post is kind of related to a previous post of mine, but I decided to create this new one because the situation has now changed, and the question is more about citizenship than immigration. John and Mary met in England about 3 years ago. John is a British citizen (not by descent), and Mar...

bringing 10-year-old son to the UK

Hi there A friend of mine is here on a two-year spouse visa. She has a ten-year-old son in Brazil. She wants to apply for the boy to come and live with her and her husband here in the UK. My friend was never married to the boy's father. She got pregnant when she was about 18 years old, and lived wit...

change in take-home pay

Hello everyone I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend. She's just completed five years on work permit, but a couple of months ago she agreed with employer to go from 5 to 3 days per week. Her pay has been reduced by 40% pro rata, but the full time or hourly rate equivalent has remained uncha...

naturalisation debt & unemployment

Hello All I've been browsing the forum but havent found any postings about my concerns so I decided to start a topic. I was thinking about applying for naturalisation, and took the life in the UK test. Now I've been trying to complete the form, but I got stuck. Does any one know if being in debt cou...

Republique Thanks, I will not mention the self employment. Biggie. I'm not quite sure whether this is a good idea. Have you registerd as self-employed with the inland revenue yet? The AN form says that checks will be carried out with the police and other government agencies. If the inland revenue r...
