Re: Checking status of application whilst you are abroad

I'm going to apply for citizenship, then stay in the UK for about a month following the application, and then temporatily move abroad for anywhere from a few months to a couple of years. There is no way for me to postpone the trip abroad, which is for family/personal reasons. I can travel, more tha...

Do i have to show divorce certificate for naturalisation app

I divorced my ex wife a few years ago after coming to the UK. The divorce was registered at the embassy of my home country. The certificate is in a foreign language. Do I have to provide this certificate when I apply for citizenship? If so, do I have to have it translated professionally with a signa...

Confirmation of travel for naturalisation- tickets/b.passes

I know that I have to present evidence of presence in the UK when I apply for citizenship. I use IRIS so my passport has very few UK arrival stamps. I 've been travelling quite a lot, especially since I got my ILR, but staying within the limits to qualify for naturalisation. What evidence of arrival...

Referee for naturalisation completed wrong fields of form

One of my 2 referees for naturalisation put his email address by mistake where there's supposed to be his passport number. Then he realised that and put his passport number in the email address field, corrected the names of the fields and countersigned next to each field. Everything else on the refe...

They want the address you live in, not a po box address. If you move often, then the best way would be to put the address you live in at the time of application. In the column of correspondence address, put the the address of a friend or relative who you know wont move house until your application'...

I have a reference given to me by a professional 4 months in advance of application. I'm quite sure he will remember me and/or check his records if HO contacts him to confirm the reference, but i'm reluctant to ask him to sign it again with a later date, because i've already asked to correct an erro...

Naturalisation referee gave his office address - is that ok?

I asked my GP to be my referee and sign the naturalisaion form. He signed the form but gave his office address when he filled line 5.6 (Address). He also put his stamp there with his name and address. 2 questions. 1. Is it acceptable for a referee to give his professional address rather than home ad...

Yes, do it as soon as possible. Dont be complacent at all. I know you are not a child but let me tell you a few things. Best way would be to pay by card, or pay cash. If you pay by cheque council wont stop to get the court order. It is your responsibilty that council receives the cleared payment be...

Refrence for naturalisation from a UK citizen living abroad?

Can I get a reference for naturalisation from somebody who lives abroad but is a UK citizen? He is visiting the UK at the moment, but will be back to his current country of residence at the time I apply for citizenship.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

If you list your lawyer as your representative and provide his address, they will send all correspondence regarding the application to the lawyer.
What correspondence will they send? How many letters?
