Zimbabwean passport holder with US residency wishes to visit UK

Hi, brother in law lives permanently in the US but still only has his original Zimbabwean passport. What does he need to do to get into the UK?
Is he treated as a Zimbabwean or an American on entry to UK?
Thanks!

Acknowledgement of application

Hi My wife completed her application for ILR a couple of weeks ago after a visit to the Birmingham visa processing centre. Should we have received an email or letter acknowledgement that the application had been submitted? Nothing received yet, just a bit worried the Birmingham staff didn't press th...

2014, UK and we think it was Bilston. We will probably put in the date that the residence permit was issued.

Completing FLR(M) - 9.12, fingerprints

Hi My wife is filling out section 9 of the FLR (M) application, section 9.12 in order to apply for a second period of leave to remain. She HAS had her fingerprints taken when she first applied 2.5 years ago but all the information was sent off with that application. The form asks for when and where ...

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK application

Thanks, I'll have to double check the visas were all done on time before I met her(!), but I hear that the ILR can take an awful long time to process anyway and there are more hurdles so it maybe better to go for the FLR(M) extension anyway? Unless things have changed in the last year?

Does giving up full time work harm application?

Hi Bit complicated this, I will try to summarise: - my wife came to the UK from Zimbabwe in 2001 on a student visa which was then changed to a work visa. - we met in 2008 and married in 2010. - She now has a "Leave to Remain as Spouse/Partner" visa which expires in August 2016. Re: Obtaining an EEA card as a UK Resident

Thanks All. chaoclive - that makes sense but the Spanish have said that my wifes UK Residence Permit was issued under UK law and not European Law and therefore she needs the Schengen visa. I was hoping that maybe the EEA card would mean she can travel more easily because that is issued under Europea...

Re: Obtaining an EEA card as a UK Resident

Thanks, Schengen Visa has so far cost us £80 plus travel to London. And they want us to pay for our holiday in full with no guarantee that we will get a visa at the end of it. Not sure if we should take the risk!
