Re: Bringing non EU spouse back to the UK

will have settled status soon (in about 2 years) Considering one needs to complete 5 years for it, 2 years is not soon. It's about half the waiting time... Now on to my actual question: It is my understanding that as soon as I receive my settled status I will be able to come and go out of the count...

Bringing non EU spouse back to the UK

Hello everyone! I've got a question that I've been able to find surprisingly little info on out there, so I thought someone here might be able to help me with this. I (a EU citizen) am married to my wife (a non EU citizen). We both currently live in London. While I currently have pre-settled status ...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

Hi all, I just thought I would share my experiences / timeline of my application process (overall, it's been a very positive and pleasant experience) Background: My wife is a non EEA national (we married abroad) who applied for the EU settlement scheme back at the end of March 2020. She got the CoA ...

Re: Long CoA delay - Settlement of non EEA Spouse - Right to stay and work under threat

Would she be able to travel abroad (e.g. because of a family emergency) and be allowed back in? Could get complicated. I would advise against all foreign travel until her biometric card comes through (CoA is not a travel document). For starters, airlines may refuse her permission to board without p...

Re: Long CoA delay - Settlement of non EEA Spouse - Right to stay and work under threat

If you are a non-British EEA citizen and she is married to you (in a marriage that is recognised in the UK), then her right to reside in the UK flows from that marriage. So she can reside in the UK based on that marriage. She also has the right to work in the UK, but there is no way to prove the ri...

Long CoA delay - Settlement of non EEA Spouse - Right to stay and work under threat

Hello, I am writing this post because I could really use some advice. I am a EU citizen that's been living in the UK for two years, and I got my pre-settled status swiftly and with no issues. I've recently gotten married to a non-EEA wife (S. Korea). She applied for the EU Settlement Scheme on the 1...

Re: Pre-settled status EU settlement scheme

According to policy paper here , page 4, paragraph 12: In a no-deal scenario, a EU citizen with settled or pre-settled status can bring family members (e.g. family members can apply to the Settlement Scheme): By March 29th 2022, if the relationship started before Brexit date By December 31st 2020, ...

Pre-settled status EU settlement scheme

Hi all, I am getting in touch with you with an enquiry about the (future?) validity of my marriage. I am a German citizen living in London since September 2018. I already applied for the EU settlement scheme and received pre-settled status. I intend to stay in the UK and build a life here, if that m...
