Re: Surinder Singh and Brexit

So wait, the only advice you have for me is to get pregnant in the hopes that I can stay in the U.K. with my family? Are you joking?

Surinder Singh and Brexit

I have a eea family permit until 2018 (though my passport expires before then) so, for people that have already taken the Surinder Singh route, is there any speculation on whats going to happen after brexit? I'll probably miss the article 50 2 year mark by a few months. Should people like us just ex...

Re: Husband must claim insolvency- will it affect my eea4

for clarification, i said irl but i meant pr. this is also in part because i was lead to believe that with ss routes after 5 years the non eea spouse could apply right away for british citizenship while some other routes require the person to wait a year after obtaining pr. like i said its really co...

Re: Husband must claim insolvency- will it affect my eea4

well, we called the home office and they did explicitly tell us that i must prove that i am exercising treaty rights, and since my husband (british citizen) is married to me, he can not claim benefits of any kind - because since we are married they would affect me as well. they also told me that i m...

Re: Husband must claim insolvency- will it affect my eea4

As far as I'm aware (from this message board) if my British husband were to claim benefits of any kind other than tax credits it could render me ineligible to recieve pr since I have come here from the surr. Singh route.

Husband must claim insolvency- will it affect my eea4

Hello! I have a question regarding claiming insolvency money from national insurance. I know for an eea permit to become citizenship under surrender Singh route your British partner must not claim benefits. But my husbands company was just liquidated and they are refusing to pay him for his last mon...

Re: Citizenship after 5 years Surrinder Singh

Thank you so much for clarifying, Joppa. I read the FAQ (not to mention the in depth resident requirements on the gov.uk page) after I had posted... So I apologise for not thoroughly checking before I posted. It's just that I happened to look on the residence requirement page and saw the date guidel...

Re: Permanent Residence Question

"Listening" in on this conversation it looks to me that there are in fact two rules, rather than the one "do not stay outside the uk for more than 6 months out of the year. Maybe I'm wrong, but from what you all said it looks like you mean, you must not only stay in the uk 6 months out of the year b...

Re: Does six months absence count towards PR

A further question, what qualifies as leaving the uk permanently? If my uk spouse were to leave the uk with me for six months out of the year, would I, the non eu eea2 permit holder still qualify for permanent residence after five years?

So should I assume that no one has ever been called to confirm their uk husbands residence in the uk? Then another question, has anyone ever been denied a residence card under Surinder Singh? If one must appeal, now that the laws are changing January 2014, would the appeal be treated under the new l...

How did you get them to issue new CoA with right to work? I have tried writing to them, both through regular post and e-mail and also sent a complaint through email, and so far nothing. It has been over 6 weeks and haven't heard from them. I am lawfully married and my wife is exercising her treaty ...

Eea surrinder Singh home call- decision in weeks?!

Hello, has this happened to anyone else? Today we received a cell phone call, the man on the line asked if my husband was living here in the uk. They asked his parents, where our home address is, and then they asked me since I answered the phone. Then they called back and spoke with him. They also s...

Haha, update: they sent me a THIRD COA, this one is correct, stating I have the right to work. The first was wrong because they overlooked my marriage certificate, the second said I was both unconfirmed to work but also allowed, and the THIRD finally simply states I am allowed to work. already two e...

Hello, So, the liverpool office, turns out, didn't recognise my marriage certificate as what it was so they sent me a unconfirmed right to work COA... I called them, they found my marriage certificate, apologised, sent me a new COA. This one STILL says they can't confirm my right to work at this tim...

Thanks for the reassurance, I don't think ill have a problem with my employer, as the government already issued me an NI number and they let me into the country. I'm under the impression that I don't need the eea2 at all, as long as my husband is living in England with me I'm legally allowed to live...

For the eea1 they made copies... But eea2 requested all original documents, which really sucks because they lost ours. Good luck to you.
