Lenght of time outside the UK (dependent)

Hi,

How long can a Tier 4 dependent partner be away from the UK and then return on the same visa, what is the maximum allowed? (if there is such a thing)

Thank you

Report the end of a relationship when still married?

Hi all, I hold a Tier 4 visa, and I brought my husband with me as a dependent. Our relationship seems to have ended, and he is making arrangements to move out within the coming weeks. I know both of us must report this situation to the Home Office, which will probably lead to his visa being curtaile...

Re: TIER 4 Visa cancelled when I choose to do research outside UK after 1 year classes

I just hope they report the right information, and that UKVI does not make any mistake either (like thinking I've interrupted). I don't know why you think either thing would happen Because of samwolverinee's case, at the top of this topic. He/she seem to have been advised by his tutor at university...

Re: TIER 4 Visa cancelled when I choose to do research outside UK after 1 year classes
However it appears that your university does not intend to do this, but that they intend to continue with your Tier 4 sponsorship and to monitor your attendance somehow. You need to check how they will be doing that, perhaps by an expected regular contact with you.
Thank you Sah104...

Re: TIER 4 Visa cancelled when I choose to do research outside UK after 1 year classes

Hi, I had my TIER 4 visa for 2 years of period i.e from 2018 - 2020. After completing first year classes in end of 2018 I went back to home country. And guided by the tutor I choose to do research outside UK. I thought my current visa will be valid until I submit my final dissertation. But the univ...

No border control: illegally in the UK?

Hello everyone, I've been in the UK for about a year on a Tier 4 visa, which is valid for some more years. Some days ago I travelled from London to Ireland. I had to go through immigration (passport control) in Dublin, and I was given a 90-day Irish visitor stamp. Two days later I returned to the UK...

Go through border control together?

I'm in the UK on a Tier 4 visa, which is valid until the end of my course (3 more years from now). My niece has been in the UK, staying at home with me. She's taking a short course, which will finish tomorrow. She is a non-visa national, so she applied for a short-term study visa upon arrival (not a...

Re: Voluntary deportation

I believe there is no such a thing as "voluntary deportation", as deportation implies enforced removal, but I may be wrong, as I am not an expert or a professional adviser. You are probably talking about "voluntary return", which can be or not at the expenses of the person who is living. It is all e...

Police Certificate Remarks Date

Hi, I moved to a different address in January. On the very same date of the move I went to the police to update the certificate. The lady asked me when I'd moved and I said it was that very same date, which she wrote in one of her forms (not my PRC). She wrote down the new address on her form and on...

Re: Research abroad an remarks on dependent's BRP

Thank you Sah, as always. We'll see what to do from now until then. The university has confirmed they'll continue sponsoring me as the time abroad is part of my studies. The only issue is my dependant, who will be studying. He may have to interrupt his studies just to accompany me and avoid raising ...

Research abroad an remarks on dependent's BRP

Hi, I'm taking a research degree (PhD) and my leave expires in 2022. About a year from now I'll need to spend about 6 months abroad, collecting data for analysis, as part of my research and therefore as part of my studies in the UK though I will be outside of the UK during this period. The universit...

Student and dependant council tax exemption

Hi all. At first this may not sound like an immigration question, but it is in the end. I am a student on Tier 4 general visa, and my married partner is on a Tier 4 dependent partner visa. He's not a national of Switzerland or a EU country, and he has a "no recourse to public funds" attached to his ...

It worked in the end. Probably because the letter of sponsorship was there also.

Sah, I can't thank you enough for all your thourough considerations about our applications. A really big thank you!

Re: The date of the bank statements

So, Cloudynow, did you get your visa? My partner is having the same bank statement issue. He submitted the application online (outside the UK) and he had a bank statement issued the same day. However, we unfortunately found out the same day that the statement was not 100% in the format required. So,...

From unmarried to married - Dependant refused/another CAS needed?

My (then) unmarried partner applied as a Tier 4 dependant and I applied at the same time as the main applicant (Tier 4 student). We were naive and only submitted an affidavit o same sex partnership prepared by a notary. I got my entry clearance and his application was refused. We then converted our ...

Re: Dependant refused/another CAS needed?

Thank you Sah10406! Re: Applying for Tire4 visa after seeking asylum

I am not an immigration expert. But it seems to me you may well get your visa. I think you should answer all the question truthfully and provide further explanation, as you did above. This can be in the "additional information" of the application form or in a cover letter. In any case, considering y...

Re: Dependant refused/another CAS needed?

Jeeze! I know this question is going to sound stupid, but I'm having a hard time with it, and understanding how this 28 period work may define whether or not my dependant will be able to travel with me to the UK by the end of the year. The guidance states that, if funds for the maintenance of the PB...

Thank you Sah! The dependant is going to provide a bank statement of my savings.
Is it necessary to explain where the money is coming from (e.g. my payslips)?

My Tier 4 general student visa was granted. My dependant oartner's was refused. I've posted another whole thread on this: "Tier 4 dependant refused/another CAS needed?"
Please have a look there. Sah has already kindly made several comments.

We're getting professional advice, but please say anything else you believe could be important. And t...
