Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I received a call from my local council in Wales, Monmouthshire. They have received my certificate and while I have not received my invitation letter, they are fine with me attending a ceremony without it. I am booked in for a private ceremony (the only type they are doing) next week and there was n...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Just a bit of (non) update for me. Approved on the 29th of June and still waiting for an invitation letter. I have not called up my local council yet to see if they received my certificate. They have not updated the information on their citizenship page since July anyway. We are currently under lock...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I sent an email to Monmouthshire council asking about citizenship ceremonies and certificates. They replied saying they have not received any certificates since the start of lockdown nor have they been notified of a despatch date. They would keep hold of my information and contact me when they find ...

Documents to upload, stamps in passport and photo

I have a few questions I am hoping someone can help me with: 1. On the referee form, should the referee be the one to write my full name and date of birth or can I do that? I believe at one point they were supposed to and also sign it but it looks to have changed (perhaps because it is uploaded?) 2....

Re: Question re: proof of living in UK and child's birthparent question

Useful to state fully what you are rather than SAHM (stay at home mum) as not everyone is familiar with various acronyms. Sorry, you are right that I should have not used an acronym. Oops. I actually prefer 'Domestic Engineer'... Do you hold ilr? Yes, I have had ILR since about 6 months after ...

Question re: proof of living in UK and child's birthparent question

What constitutes proof of living in the UK? I am married to a British citizen for 21 years, having lived in the UK for the past 7.5 years. I am a SAHM and only started working for my son's ltd company last September. I see they do not accept bank statements as proof, nor utility bills. My passport w...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Thank you for those who replied to my earlier questions. (Tho admittedly, I am still confused on the FPN. I would like to just mention it, even if it is not on my record due to taking the course, but not sure if it is a criminal or civil issue.) I have another question. Do your referees need to have...

British citizenship as spouse of British citizen

Hello. I am just starting my naturalisation application. I am married to a British citizen, have ILR and have been living in the UK for 7.5 years. I have a few questions and was hoping I might find some answers here. 1. I received a FPN 2 years and 9 months ago. I paid the fine and attended a GoSafe...
