Re: Correcting a mistake on my naturalisation certificate

C. As my spouse shares my story of being born in a Baltic state but being a citizen of Russia, what could be done to prevent the same sequence of mistakes from repeating? Should we write a cover letter to the caseworker and enclose it with the naturalisation application? Well, now we done it (wrote...

Re: Travelling Straight After Naturalisation / Returning ILR certificate

1. You are not a British citizen till you pronounce the oath. So you are not eligible for the passport till the ceremony. 2. Immediately after the ceremony you become British and may return to the UK only by using the British passport OR 3. AFAIK - you might either have your other passport being sta...

Sent my certificate back on 4 Feb (Special delivery), with a good cover letter, and a spare envelope (1 class tracked).

Spare envelope was returned on Thursday with a note "the corrected certificate will reach you shortly" and today I received it.

Now it is the passport time.

Re: Correcting a mistake on my naturalisation certificate

Well, the problem is, I deem, the time for the documents to reach the Council. I corrected my calculations yesterday and the outcome is: median time from application to approval decreased from 77 to 69 days in the 2nd half of 2020; The median time from application to the ceremony decreased from 183 ...

Re: Correcting a mistake on my naturalisation certificate

Hi, my situation is probably not unique, and here it is: 1. I am a citizen of Russia, but I was born in one of the Baltic states (Lithuania) in 1970-ies. At the time it was a part of USSR, recognised as such by present Russia de jure. So all my document state I was born in the USSR. 2. The UK did re...
