Ceremony

Hi guys,

I applied by post and received my approval yesterday. Do I need to wait for an invitation letter from my council or can I ring them anyway to book for the ceremony?

Thanks!

Guys, don't worry! If you haven't lied for your ILR and have completed your form AN properly, you will get your citizenship. We got our approval yesterday after applying on 18th April. A friend also got their approval yesterday and they applied 3 weeks before us! Stop letting speculations get to you...

Some people say Naturalisation is a previliage and not a right, but When i pay almost £1000 as a fee i would expecet decent customer service and some structured method for dealing with an application. The UKBA say that. And yes, completely agreed. I'm afraid I'm going to be a whinging member from ...

Please could any one let me know if my proffesional referee can be a non British citizen (he is on Tier 1) and a company director?

Thanks,
One of your referees needs to be British. The other can be a professional of any nationality. It says so quite clearly in the Form AN guidance notes.

SO bored of waiting! I applied on 18th April and it is so frustrating to see May and June applicants getting approvals - sorry, I'm just a LITTLE jealous!

I also know 2 different people that applied in March who are still waiting. Annoying times!

Applied on 18th April, the call was made on 29th June. Frustrating times. Re the issue around chatty...

Re: Timeline for Passport Applications

Apologies if this is inappropriately placed. I was wondering if there was any way we could collate timelines for passport applications into one place. There are occasional updates in the naturalisation thread for passports, but very hard to find and rare. Has anyone got a British passport in recent...

Does the number of applicants (ie in a family application) affect greatly the time it takes for an approval to come through?

It looks like April applications are being looked at at an impressive speed, but don't want to get my hopes too high too soon!

Ah right, fair enough. Thanks for stickying.

Hopefully this means we'll amass a reasonable amount of information on timelines.

Haven't a clue. We've requested in this thread and I've PMed 2 moderators but haven't had a reply yet *shrugs*.

Question for everyone: does it matter if you use check & send or just post your application yourself?

I disagree. The instructions clearly say that for a child, one of the referees should be a professional (of any nationality) who should firstly know them, and secondly have been their teacher/doctor/health visitor/social worker/minister of religion etc. Link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/british...
