You will not get the fee back and they will still have the information held on the application form and may refer to it if you submit another application. So why not just hang in there and see how this application goes?

A close friend of mine's application took 18months to complete, and she was a student throughout the 10 years and not illegal. She was however able to continue on her status as a student as the application was being dealth with. It was very stressful for her having to wait through such uncertainties...

Thanks for the info. I did call back and was told that one must be in the country when the application is recieved and the 5days covers that event incase of courier troble.

Thanks to all the forum members who contribute, the information provided has been valuable. I made an appointment for NCS and the man on the phone highlighted to me that I have to be in the country 5 days after the application is submitted. Is this true?
