Re: Dividend - Tax credit isn't a thing any more?

There have been plenty of questions around here about net and gross dividends and this is a new change in law about a critical piece of evidence for earnings where guidance has in the past asked to clearly show net and gross amounts. Felt related to my immigration application. Anyway, won't bump thi...

Dividend - Tax credit isn't a thing any more?

For dividends payed after April 6, 2016 the 10% tax credit is abolished. So there is no concept of different gross and net dividends. Correct? So the dividend voucher just says dividend payable (the terms gross or net or tax credit are not present). Does this sound fine? And the "dividend payable" o...

Set(O) - Tier 1 dependant wife applying with me doesn't have to provide absences?

The Set(O) form appears to ask for only my (the main applicant - Tier 1 General) absences table in section 6 and 7 in the personal history and immigration history sections. Doesn't my wife applying with me (Tier 1 dependant) need to show personal/immigration history anywhere or provide explanations?...

Set(O) - The form only asks for one English test reference?

Section 4 - Knowledge of Life and Language Page 16 of Set(O) - They only ask for one SELT test reference? My wife and I both took the test - any pointers why they don't ask for both references on the form? My understanding is that I would be filling in just one copy of the Set(O) for with myself as ...

Re: Proof of Knowledge of English - ILR under Tier 1 (Genera

So the Tier 1 dependent partner now needs to take an English test? Or is the degree enough if recognized by NARIC? And in my case, the rules before July 9, 2012 will apply for the wife - so I'm left a bit more confused. Infact, does the main applicant need to take the English test too - I didn't see...

Post office

I have never used Royal Mail / Post Office to send larger packages like for the postal application. Not even sure what the difference is between courier and other normal post? Will go to the local post office and ask but I thought maybe somebody could tell what kind of packaging/service to use. Ther...

Re: Main + Dependent postal application - Single courier?

Hi Suresh. One more question. Can you tell me what is the exact name of the merchant that came up on your bank statement? I want to call my credit card provider and tell them to not block it when I apply. They ask for a merchant name. Maybe something like "UKBA" or "UK Border Agency" or "Home office"?

Re: Main + Dependent postal application - Single courier?

Suresh,

Also, did they make two transactions for the two fee payments or a single one for the total of your wife and yours?

Re: Main + Dependent postal application - Single courier?

Hi Suresh,

Thanks for the response.

"prepaid special delivery cover for documents return" - Is this a requirement? Didn't notice this mentioned anywhere at all. Do they not return all the documents if this is not included? And what is the difference?

Main + Dependent postal application - Single courier?

Applying for Tier 1 extension for main + dependent. I couldn't quite find what applying together means - does it mean that I send both the forms and evidence in a single courier to the postal address? And there will be two different payments taken - like one for my wife and then one for me rather th...

Yea, that's what I thought. But I don't really want to pay for the hotel.

So is there any potential problem in doing bookings for acco (just to show ukba if it is really needed) and then cancelling later - before they arrive here.

Getting around reject of parents visit visa for overcrowding

Like many others, I live in a 1BHK with my wife and my inlaws want to come over for a month. Our house has 2 rooms (bed room + living room) - which as per UKBAs guidance, allows only 3 people in all to stay. Now as per this thread : http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=125846 , I think U...

The locked guidance thread - http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=6227 Looks like nobody would have anything to worry about when bringing parents over for a short visit considering the following rule from http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1985/68/part/X 329 Exception; visiting member o...
