Re: Biometrics for ILR

My wife called up the Home office to withdraw the first application. They sent a confirmation mail and are supposed to refund the entire amount since we had not booked the appointment but it hasn't hit my credit card yet. Need to follow up. Created a fresh application and had an option to get expedi...

Re: Biometrics for ILR

Thanks! Rectified the mistake and my wife has just received her ILR. Am I right in assuming that we can apply for her UK citizenship right away as I am a citizen and she has lived here for over 5 years? She does but I have UK citizenship now and so does my son. Based on my settled status, she has ap...

Re: Biometrics for ILR

She does but I have UK citizenship now and so does my son. Based on my settled status, she has applied using set m. Is that wrong?

Biometrics for ILR

My wife has submitted a set m application for ILR. We have not taken an appointment for the biometrics yet because I believe that her BRP will be taken at the biometric. Is that true? Also, we have traveled to a couple of European destinations after the application has been submitted. I see some pos...

Baby born while ILR application was in process

I had applied for ILR in early May 2020 and due to Covid, it was delayed and took 6 months and I finally received it in Nov 2020. During this period, we had a baby who was born in London in July 2020. Question is - Will the baby be considered British at birth and I can apply for a passport directly ...

Re: Consent Letter for ILR accelerated route

Thanks! I had submitted my application with a modified version of the consent letter and got one of the 5 other directors to sign it. Home Office hasn't contacted me again after submission. I hope they aren't able to reject the entire application due to this..

Consent Letter for ILR accelerated route

It seems that they are two consent letters required - one from yourself and one from a third party to check on accounts that might affect the third party. The templates on the Home office site (https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/documents/family_consent.pdf) including the third party do not ad...

Re: PBS Dependent Extension

We get the options - Tier 1 Entrepreneur (Initial) 3 years - Tier 1 Entrepreneur (extension) 2 years And before these options even show up, we need to provide the date of expiry of the current visa. You suggested providing a date 3 years ahead as the date of expiry of visa, instead of the actual dat...

Re: PBS Dependent Extension

Thanks for the quick reply! Sorry for tagging earlier. Would it not be incorrect to put an expiry date as 3 years from now, when my visa is currently under review? Also, when I actually go to the https://www.immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk/payment/IHSPortal/Welcome, it doesn't show me th...

PBS Dependent Extension

I have a similar query. I have applied for ILR using the accelerated route for Tier 1 Entrepreneur but as my application is still under process, my wife who I got married to only 2 years ago, has to apply for an extension using the PBS dependent visa. Now, when we try to pay for the NHS, it also ask...

Re: Ex-gratia from company you are a Director of?

Thanks for the quick response, Zimba! My only concern was that on tier 1 entrepreneur visa, you need to be running the business (either as self-employed or director), so can someone make themselves redundant and claim income tax rebate in doing so and can it be looked at in a suspicious way by the a...

Ex-gratia from company you are a Director of?

I invested 200K (unsecured loan) in an existing company and became an executive director. The company scaled up significantly and then hit turbulent times. I am now leaving the company. Can I receive an ex-gratia from the company as do regular employees when made redundant? I will continue to remain...
