quitting PhD after switching from tier 4 to tier 2

Hi All, I've successfully switched from tier 4 to tier 2 after completing 12 months (and few days) of PhD and I am now happily settled in my new job. Since I have the tier 2 can I quit my PhD since it has nothing to my work and I hate it? To clarify, I only want to know if quitting the PhD has any i...

Tier 4 to Tier 2 - am I on a "permanent job"?

Hello, I am currently on a tier 2 and have been accepted into a full-time job starting in a couple of days. Due to a miscommunication I've withdrawn my tier 2 visa application and can't submit it a new one before next week. I'm currently off-term on a valid Tier 4 and the only obstacle that I'm faci...

Re: Tier 2 Date of application defnition

Ok thanks a lot for the clarification.

If I withdraw my tier 2 application now without attending the biometrics appointment will I get the application + super priority fees back? (I realised the I.H.S is refundable but takes a while).

Tier 2 Date of application defnition

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone can please clarify the definition of the "date of application" for in country tier 2 application (switching from tier 4). The policy guidance states the following but it's quite vague "202. For applications made in the UK, the date of application is taken to...

Re: Working temporarily before applying for tier 2 visa

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I was wondering if I am allowed to work full-time under a valid tier 4 if I didn't even submit a tier 2 application yet? Also would they have to change my 3 year contact (based on the CoS) to a different contract?

Working temporarily before applying for tier 2 visa

Hello, I am intending on switching from tier 4 to tier 2 this September but I might not be able to submit an application before the start date. I was wondering if from an immigration point of view, I can join the company whilst on a valid tier 4 visa? The main problem I'm seeing is that it says a ti...

Re: What are the consequences of a refused application (tier 4 to tier 2)

Non-issue, simply apply again. Thank you so much for your reply. If you don't mind me asking, would the refusal (if it happens) affect my current tier 4 which doesn't expire till 2023. I know if my tier 2 application is successful my tier 4 gets curtailed but I don't know what happens to my tier 4 ...

Re: Switching Tier 4 to Tier 2 Visa - Bachleor's degree

I think it depends if your leave is "continuous" or not. i.e. if there was a gap between your bachelors and mba. No it has changed now, only PhD needs to be continuous; read the current guidance I'm in a similar situation, I've done a bachelors and masters in the UK but left the UK so now I need to...

Re: how difficult is it to switch from tier 4 to tier 2?

Many thanks for your reply and apologies if I was a bit vague. What I meant is if someone meets the basic requirements stated on their website is the chances of success very high or are the UKVI usually picky about small details and tend to refuse a lot of applicants? Your reply answers my question ...

Tier 4 to tier 2 based on previous degree

Hello everyone, So I have started a PhD less than a year ago but due to financial and personal reasons I have decided to go for a tier 2 job instead. Luckily I been accepted by a big 4 firm who are happy to provide tier 2 sponsorship, as long as I can make an in-county application. Thing is, I have ...
