ILR. A degree taught in the UK but not yet completed

Hi all. I have looked through previous threads but can't seem to find a direct answer. I am due to make my ILR application January 2017. I am currently busy with a degree through the Open University which I will finish May 2017. I have completed, and passed, five of the six modules all taught in Eng...

Re: ILR with criminal convictions

I think for ILR you will be fine. But for citizenship you may have a longer wait. Be prepared to be on ILR for a good many years, and stay out of trouble. Just curious, was the caution and later court fine for different types of incidents? The Home Office can get very picky for what they may deem t...

Re: ILR with criminal convictions

Hi there, I am currently on my second ancestry visa. January 2017 will be both 10 years option for me as well as 5 years completed on ancestry. I first entered the UK January 2007. In 2013 I was given a simple caution and in January 2015 a court fine. January 2017 will be 24 months with no convictio...

Re: ILR with criminal convictions

Hi there and thank you for the response. That is exactly what worries me - the sum of the minor convictions counting as grounds for refusal. I am trying to take things step-by-step and so at this stage my greatest concern is ILR. Could that be refused on these grounds, if I have waited the 24 month...

Re: ILR with criminal convictions

Hi there, Yes, as far as I am aware in order to make a successful application for ILR you must not have had any convictions, even a simple adult caution, in the 24 months before making your application. Hope this helps, the Home Office has some more info on their website: it is on page 5/6 on the ta...

Re: ILR with criminal convictions

I had read, online, that for ILR a court fine would be 2 years from date of conviction and for Naturalisation it was 3 years from date.
But if anyone has more information I would really appreciate it.

Will i never be able to become a citizen?

ILR with criminal convictions

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and a bit anxious about this all so any help would be appreciated. This may have been answered already but I could not find a relevant thread. In July 2013 I was given a simple adult caution for possession of drugs (cannabis). I was later caught in possession again...
